"Watchable Wildlife" site (fascinating variety of waterfowl); from the comfort of their campsites, visitors can watch the graceful flight of geese on their late summer migration south; in the campground, undergrowth provides protection from wind, while large trees create a cool, shady picnic area; open year-round, snow conditions permitting (access/internal roads not plowed); limited facilities & services provided September 16 to May 14. Located 12 km west of Stettler on Hwy 12 and 16 km north on SH 835 on the south side of Buffalo Lake, Rochon Sands Provincial Park entrance is located in the village of Rochon Sands and offers a boat launch, playground, swimming area, concession booth, picnic area, shelters and serviced camping sites.
