| Paintearth Badlands |
Located between Halkirk and Castor on the south and Forestburg on the north, this interesting land formation gives its name to the local municipality, the County of Paintearth. Outcroppings of shale gives the steep banks of the Battle River and its tributaries including the Meeting Creek a distinctive red colour.
